Academic Profile :

Dr. Arup Kumar Das did his PhD in Mathematics from Indian Statistical Institute. He is at present holding the post of Senior Technical Officer, equivalent to professor. His research interest includes Mathematical Programming, Optimization Theory, Game Theory, Linear Algebra, Matrix Theory and related areas. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience at Indian Statistical Institute, teaching full-time courses in the regular degree programmes of the institute. He has taught Mathematics, Statistics and Optimization apart from other courses. He is a reviewer of American Mathematical Society. He visited Informatics and Mathematical Modelling, Technical University of Denmark and Copenhagen in 2003 and TU Berlin, Lichthof in 2012. He is a member of Academic Council of the institute. He served as the convener of PhD & DSc committee in QROR of the institute for four years. His major contribution to the institute includes research, teaching, training, consultancy and academic administration.
